What’s your time frame?
- It usually takes a few weeks to complete a staff. But if you need it sooner, let us know! We will do our best to accommodate you.
Are you trying to match a particular costume?
- A picture, drawing or sketch will help us match the style of your staff to your costume. It will also give us ideas to how we can help complete your custom order wizard staff.
Do you need a certain color crystal?
- We have many different types of crystals to choose from. Also, we custom cast orbs, crystal points, skulls and dragons out of resin in any color! (For some interesting information about crystals and their meanings, visit this website.)
Would you like the shaft to look like wood?
- We make the shafts of our staffs from molded and shaped pvc pipe and we gently twist and bend them to give them a natural look. Then we use a four step painting process to make the shaft look like weathered gray wood, dark wood or lighter wood. We can also paint the shafts in any color; even metallic!
What kind of light do you want?
- Your staff can have one or two lights. (We have even made some specialty staffs with no light, in the case of an opaque or solid crystal.)
- All the batteries are replaceable. Instructions are included, and can be seen here.
- Light #1 – This is the main light. It is an LED flashlight that sits in the center of the shaft and illuminates the crystal from below with a bright white light. This white light shows off the natural color of the crystal. This light is activated by sticking your pinky finger (or eraser end of a pencil) in the small hole on the side of the staff near the base of the crystal and pushing up on the flashlight button inside.
- Light #2 – This secondary light is a multicolor RGB (it stands for Red, Green, Blue) LED which transitions through all the colors. The RGB LED is activated by gently turning the knob at the head of the staff. Turning the threaded knob to the right (clockwise) turns the light on while turning the knob to the left (counter-clockwise) turns the light off. IMPORTANT: if you continue turning the knob all the way to the left, it will come off—that is how the batteries are changed. This #2 light can also have a constant non-color changing light.
Do we require a deposit for a custom order?
- No. We do not require a deposit. We will do our best to interpret what you communicate to us and craft the staff with your wishes in mind. Because we require no deposit, you are under no obligation to purchase the staff once it is done, although we sincerely hope you love the finished product!
